Noni Madueke has lauded England team-mates Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane as the country’s “most decisive” players so far at the World Cup.

The duo were both on the scoresheet as England defeated Panama 2-0 in their final group game. It was a win that secured top spot in Group L for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who will now face DR Congo in the Round of 32.

“I think they’ve been the most decisive,” said Madueke of Bellingham and Kane. “Two very decisive players. Two players that take responsibility for us.

“I think Jude, especially in the last game, was unplayable.

“I feel like he’s a world-class player. Every time I watch him, I see the same player near enough every single time.

“I think the last game, I don’t understand how that can come as a shock to anybody. That’s what he’s been doing for the last how many years. When I watch him perform like that, I just feel like it’s normal.

“Obviously you know what you’re going to get from Harry in terms of the goalscoring,” the 24-year-old continued. “I’m really delighted that they’re playing their best football and we hope it continues for the knockout stages because we need them.”

Across England’s opening three fixtures, Madueke has shared right-wing responsibilities with Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka. Despite being in direct competition for both club and country, the two still maintain a strong friendship.

Madueke explained: “Obviously it’s well documented that we’re very close. Normally it should be a little bit strange, but it’s not.

“I feel like it doesn’t really affect our relationship whatsoever.

“I feel like we want the best for each other when each other plays because at the end of the day that means that if he plays well or I play well then England and Arsenal have better chances of winning.

“In terms of how we differ, I think I thrive in space and he thrives in congestion.”
