Manchester United’s predicted lineup against West Ham continues to evolve as Ruben Amorim weighs returning fitness against recent attacking momentum. With Premier League points at stake under the Old Trafford lights, all eyes are on whether Matheus Cunha makes an immediate comeback to the starting XI.

Cunha missed the home defeat to Everton and the spirited 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace after suffering a training knock, but the United head coach offered firm reassurance ahead of Thursday night’s contest.
“Matheus is good.
“He has more levels to go. He’s at a different club, different pressure, he was struggling because he was not scoring, he was thinking too much about the numbers but the influence he has in the team is important to us.”
That endorsement confirms Cunha is available again, yet selection remains finely balanced. Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee both found the net at Selhurst Park, strengthening their claims to retain starting roles. With rhythm building in attack, Cunha may be eased back via the bench rather than thrust straight into the lineup.
Injuries continue to sculpt Amorim’s options. Benjamin Sesko remains sidelined with a knee problem expected to keep him out for a couple more weeks. Harry Maguire is also unavailable with a hamstring issue, ruling him out for a similar period.

At the back, rotation is being considered. Leny Yoro could be handed a breather, opening the door for Noussair Mazraoui to return in what would otherwise be an unchanged defensive unit.

Midfield appears settled, with club captain Bruno Fernandes set to partner Casemiro once more. Any concerns were eased after Fernandes was seen clutching his hamstring at Palace before Amorim quickly dismissed fears of injury.
The manager did acknowledge further uncertainty in his squad depth.
Amorim confirmed that two other United players are doubtful for the game against West Ham, but stopped short of revealing who they are.
