With the January transfer window closing in a few hours, clubs are making their final pushes to secure key deals. One materialized move involved Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, who left Old Trafford for Villa Park.
Last month, Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport reported that while Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t made a fresh approach for Rashford, the club’s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, is keeping a close eye on the situation.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has previously been in touch with Rashford’s representatives, but any further discussions would likely depend on the player expressing a strong desire to move to Paris. The cautious stance follows Rashford’s decision to sign a five-year contract extension with Manchester United in July 2023.
Jacobs also noted that Rashford is considering a potential move to La Liga, with Barcelona reportedly interested. However, financial limitations could make a transfer challenging, with a loan deal being the most feasible option—provided Manchester United is willing to cover a significant portion of his wages.

On Sunday, it was announced that Rashford would leave Manchester United to join Aston Villa on loan. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano relayed a statement from the forward, offering a quick explanation as to why he chose to join the Lions.
“I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen,” Rashford said. “I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”
Recently, TEAMtalk reported that the Premier League club values Rashford at around £50 million to £60 million as they look to raise funds while managing their transfer strategy. However, the Red Devils might have to wait and hope that Rashford has a successful loan stint to garner this fee.
