Manchester City want to bring another right back to the Etihad Stadium and have turned their attention to Givairo Read.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man City are monitoring Read ahead of a potential move and are ‘keen’ on him.
He is blessed with remarkable pace and stamina. His passing and vision are top-notch. He is also strong in one-on-one duels and tackling, making him the complete package.
The Feyenoord defender has delivered three assists in the Eredivisie this season, averaging 1.0 key pass per game. He has won 60 percent of his aerial and 58% of his ground duels.
In the Europa League, he has scored once and created two big chances, coming out on top in 73% of his aerial and 70% of his ground duels.
He is a top talent and would be a coup for Man City if they can land him.
The departure of Kyle Walker left a hole at right-back, leaving Rico Lewis as the only natural in the position at the club.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola converted midfielder Matheus Nunes to a right-back, and he has been serviceable, but he wants a specialist.
A move for first-choice target Valentino Livramento did not materialise, and the Cityzens have turned their attention elsewhere.
However, the FA Cup finalists need to move quickly, with Bayern Munich also linked with Read. They have already held talks with his camp.
He would cost around €35 million, which would likely not be a problem for the Premier League outfit, but would also be affordable for Bayern.
