In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester United are the main contenders to sign Tottenham Hotspur ace Cristian Romero this summer. It is understood that the Red Devils have identified the Argentine talent as a target for this transfer window.
Romero struggled to perform at a high level for Spurs in the Premier League, but did well to put in a few impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 28-year-old found the back of the net six times and earned four assists in 32 matches for Tottenham last season across all competitions.
The Argentine defender has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League. Thus, he would be a good signing for the Red Devils if they can devise a way to bring him on board this summer.
Romero’s current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029, so Man United would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting him in this transfer window.

Romero is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well.
Standing at 1.85m, the Italian sensation can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his side. He has already got plenty of experience in Premier League football and is well-equipped to make a smooth transition to life at the Mancunian club.
We can expect Romero to add more bite and steel to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s defence. He has what it takes to compete for a regular starting spot at the Theatre of Dreams next season.
At 28, Romero has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Red Devils to pursue this summer. He will also help Man United compete across all fronts in the coming years. All in all, Carrick would be wise to move in for him before the end of this transfer window.
