Manchester United have held initial talks with the agent of Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Mateus Mane over a summer move, according to United insider Sully.

Man United want to strengthen the left side of their attack ahead of next season and the Wolves teenage sensation has impressed them.

Mane has blown away Red Devils’ scouts with his performances for Wolves so far this term and a concrete move could be on the cards for the 18-year-old.

Man United are not the only ones keen on Mane, and more suitors will emerge if Wolves are relegated.

The Midlands club are very likely to drop down to the Championship having accrued just nine points in 26 games, and they could be forced to sell some key players.

They want to hold on to Mane but he could look to move on, and a deal to join Man United could appeal to him.

The Red Devils are on track to qualify for the Champions League next season following an impressive run of form under head coach Michael Carrick.

They have won four and drawn one of their last five league games and playing in the elite European competition next term will boost their chances of attracting the Wolves starlet and other top targets.

Mane has two goals and two assists in 15 league games for his club despite their woeful form, and he will fancy his chances of impressing in the English top-flight at another club next season.

Man United are desperate not to miss out on another huge potential after overlooking several opportunities in the past.
