Manchester United have taken a major step in their efforts to complete the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers sensation Mateus Mane.
United are bracing for another busy summer transfer window, with reinforcements needed across almost all areas of the pitch.
With Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho expected to permanently leave at the end of the campaign, United are in urgent need of bolstering their left-wing options. At present, there appear to be two leading players on the club’s wishlist for this position – Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) and Mane (Wolves).
Despite Wolves sitting rock-bottom in the Premier League standings and on course for relegation, Mane is enjoying a breakthrough campaign.
He has caught the eye with his exceptional dribbling and ball control. A direct and audacious attacker, Mane also boasts remarkable strength at just 18 years of age.
The teenager is also incredibly versatile and can be deployed across the frontline as well as in an attacking midfield role. Mane has made 15 top-flight appearances so far this term, contributing two goals and as many assists.
His performances have caught the attention of the league’s heavyweights, including United and bitter rivals Liverpool. Chelsea and Manchester City have also been mentioned as admirers of the youngster.
Now, Centredevils claim that United have initiated talks with Mane’s camp ahead of a potential switch to Old Trafford in the summer.
Centredevils say, “Manchester United have held initial talks with Mateus Mane’s agent in recent days.”
“The Wolverhampton Wanderers forward has interest from multiple clubs and will make a decision on whether he stays or leaves at the end of the season.”
“Mane is highly rated internally at United, with scouts impressed at his breakthrough this season.”
Relegation is looking increasingly probable, and should Wolves succumb, they may have to cash in on their most valuable commodities, with Mane chief among them.
Centredevils note that Wolves will do everything in their power to retain Mane. However, they are likely to be rendered powerless if concrete offers for him arrive.
