Manchester United are planning to overhaul their midfield, with Casemiro set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.

The Red Devils want to add two midfielders, but they could pursue a third if Manuel Ugarte also departs.

United have been linked with several top names so far, including Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali and Adam Wharton.

Now the Mirror report the English titans are eyeing a summer move for Bournemouth star Alex Scott

The 22-year-old has been earning rave reviews with his performances since joining the Cherries in 2023.

He has started 31 matches in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals in the process.

Scott produced a man of the match display against United last month, before scoring the winner at Arsenal.

The Red Devils are said to be most impressed with the player’s character and ability to run with the ball and get forward.

But they face competition from Chelsea, who have also been monitoring the midfielder’s performances at Bournemouth.

Nottingham Forest’s Anderson is believed to be United’s top midfield target this summer.

But the 23-year-old prefers a move to Manchester City, who are in pole position to secure his signature

Michael Carrick’s side have also looked at Newcastle United star Tonali, who could push for an exit if the Magpies fail to secure European qualification.

Wharton is another top midfielder, but a deal for the 22-year-old is not expected to be easy.

Crystal Palace have the England international under contract until 2029, and only a huge outlay could convince them to part with their key star.
