According to Leeds Live, Manchester United have scheduled a four-day training camp near Dublin before Monday’s fixture with Leeds United. The trip aims to raise fitness levels after a 24-day gap between their last two fixtures, caused by their FA Cup exit and absence from European competition.

Leeds, by contrast, have had 16 days between games. They beat West Ham United on penalties in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final to reach the last four for the first time in 39 years.

Manchester United sit third in the Premier League, with one defeat in their past 14 league matches. The rivals drew 1-1 at Elland Road in January.

That match proved to be Ruben Amorim’s final game in charge. He launched a post-match rant about how the club was being run, and was dismissed 24 hours later.

Michael Carrick is now caretaker, with seven wins and one defeat from 10 matches. While Middlesbrough manager, he lost four of his five meetings with Daniel Farke’s Leeds.

Leeds have not beaten Manchester United since their famous 2010 FA Cup win at Old Trafford while in League One. Their last league victory over United was in 2002, and it is 45 years since they won a league game at Old Trafford.

The clubs are due to meet in Dublin again in August for a friendly at Croke Park, which will be called off if Leeds are relegated or reach the Community Shield final.
