In his latest interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo once again took aim at his former club Manchester United. Ruben Amorim, head coach of the Red Devils, has fired back at the Portuguese legend.
In a segment of the interview released yesterday, Cristiano Ronaldo didn't hold back about Manchester United. "He's (Amorim) doing his best. What can you do? Perform miracles? Miracles are impossible. In Portugal, we say: 'miracles only happen in Fatima...' And he won't work miracles. They have good players, but some of them don't really understand what it means to play for Manchester United. Personally, I'm sad because of the club, which is one of the most important in the world and still very dear to my heart for obvious reasons," said the former Real Madrid star.
But Ruben Amorim wasn't impressed by these remarks. Speaking to the press, he responded to his fellow countryman: "Of course, he knows and everything he says has a huge impact. What we need to focus on is the future. We know our club has made many mistakes in the past and we're working to fix them. Let's not dwell on the past, but focus on what we're doing now, and that's exactly what we're doing. We're changing a lot in the club's structure, in our approach, and in the behavior we expect from our players. We're succeeding and making progress, so let's keep going and leave the past behind."
