Manchester United have an eye on Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare ahead of the summer window, GIVEMESPORT reports.
United are targeting midfield reinforcements, with two experienced additions and a trimmed shortlist as they search for a replacement for Casemireo, who is set to move on at the end of the campaign. Premier League know-how is considered important, and Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Sandro Tonali are named among primary options.
Sangare has been a key figure for Forest this season, forging an impressive partnership with Anderson in central midfield since arriving in summer 2023. His display in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool was arguably among his best in the Garibaldi, and his form has not gone unnoticed.
Murillo has also been linked with the Old Trafford club, and several Forest players are drawing interest ahead of a pivotal window.
What Forest can do this summer will depend on the division they are planning for. With 11 games left, their Premier League status is far from secure, as they sit two points above the bottom three.
Vitor Pereira is the club’s fourth head coach of the season, tasked with clinching survival, and relegation would leave the Reds vulnerable to stars being picked off. Sangare has nearly 50 Premier League appearances after a £30 million move from PSV, and a serious bout of malaria affected his first season. He has been superb this term and is central to the survival fight.
