Fresh revelations have surfaced in recent hours regarding the alleged resignation of Marc Brys as head coach of Cameroon.
More than a month after the supposed resignation of Marc Brys at the helm of the Cameroon national team, the Belgian coach finds himself under a barrage of new claims. After the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot), it is now the turn of the agent accused of orchestrating the release of his resignation letter as part of an alleged scam attempt to reveal the behind-the-scenes details of the Flemish coach's decision-making process.
In a statement released this Wednesday and signed by his lawyers, agent Pascal Samuel Eboue claims he was approached by Brys "to advise him on the possibilities of resigning without being required to compensate the State of Cameroon for wrongful termination of contract (...), but also to draft a resignation letter for him and carry out all necessary steps to ensure it reached, in proper form," the Ministry of Sports (Minsep), his direct employer, and Fécafoot.
The agent says he exchanged several times with Brys via messages, voice notes, and WhatsApp calls that are "verifiable", and received from the Antwerp native, again via WhatsApp, his employment contract for "a technical review aimed at identifying loopholes that could facilitate a resignation without repercussions."
The agent also claims to have been approached by the coach to "put pressure" on Minsep so that the ministry would settle his "salary arrears before his new adventure in Saudi Arabia." This was also an opportunity for him to deny, in turn, any hacking of Brys's messaging: "Mr. Marc Peter Brys's messaging was never hacked, contrary to the false claims he made in a video broadcast by a local TV station."
Ultimately, the agent announces his decision to file a complaint "in light of the moral damage suffered."
