Mason-Clark strikes early as Coventry City stay top

Coventry City beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at The Hawthorns to remain top of the Championship, with first half goals from Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Rudoni.

In the fifth minute, Ephron Mason-Clark latched onto a Milan van Ewijk through ball and drilled a low finish from outside the box on the break.

Jack Rudoni doubled the lead from distance (32.), sweeping into the top left after Bobby Thomas led another counter.

There was a brief stoppage for treatment to Carl Rushworth in the second minute of first half stoppage time.

After a triple change just past the hour, West Bromwich Albion pushed on, with Jayson Molumby heading over at the back post and Isaac Price denied by Rushworth as the leaders stood firm.
