Roma takes to the field at the Olimpico Stadium in Turin.
After Wednesday’s Coppa Italia defeat, the Giallorossi are looking to bounce back and take home the three points against the Granata.
Before kickoff, Frederic Massara also spoke to Sky Sport about the transfer market.
Regarding the arrivals of Robinio Vaz and Malen, he said: “They are two strong players, with very different backgrounds. One is a young talent; many teams were interested in him, and we’re happy to have managed to secure him. The other is an international-level player, already established, who can certainly make a big contribution to us immediately.”
Massara also discussed the possible arrival of new reinforcements in other departments: “There are still fifteen days of the transfer window, we’ll see what opportunities arise and try to be ready. There are still some things that could be done, but we’ll see how the situation evolves over the next two weeks.”
He then explained how they choose players with Gian Piero Gasperini: “The process is always shared, we discuss things daily. We have one goal: to build a strong Roma team that can last over time. This is our only priority, the process is absolutely shared.”
Massara also took stock of Evan Ferguson’s future: “We’ll evaluate in the coming days whether there are opportunities for players who haven’t had much playing time or those who haven’t established themselves as we’d hoped. We’ll have to see if the right conditions are right; we’ll make these assessments shortly. Ferguson is growing a lot. He arrived after a season in which he hadn’t played much, and lately he’s been showing off all his qualities and has been a huge help to us. It’s a shame he got injured, but we’re counting on him.”
Finally, regarding Joshua Zirkzee, he concluded: “It’s a conversation that Manchester United closed quite clearly a few weeks ago and has never reopened. At this point, it’s absolutely impossible.”
