Leicester City beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at Ewood Park to end a four-match winless run in the Championship.

Stephy Mavididi settled the game in the 78th minute, guiding a right-footed finish into the bottom right corner from the centre of the box after a corner.

Balazs Toth kept Blackburn Rovers in the contest with eight saves, smothering efforts from Mavididi and Jordan Ayew late on. Jakub Stolarczyk was assured at the other end, claiming crosses and handling cleanly.

After Jordan Ayew and Silko Thomas arrived just after the hour mark, the Foxes carried greater threat from a stream of corners, with sustained pressure preceding Mavididi's decisive strike.

There were stoppages for injuries on both sides, with Harry Souttar requiring treatment before the break and Ryan Alebiosu going off after the restart, replaced by Matty Litherland.

The Foxes registered 22 attempts, hitting nine on target as they pressed for a breakthrough. Blackburn Rovers produced 12 attempts and forced Stolarczyk into four saves.

Blackburn Rovers finish 20th in the Championship table. The Foxes sit 23rd.
