Spain are managing Lamine Yamal carefully after a demanding 2026 World Cup, having arrived after injury and featured in every game. With the Argentina final in New Jersey on Sunday as Spain chase a second star, El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that he will be fully prepared.
On Thursday the Barcelona international worked separately alongside Pedro Porro on the grass at the New York Red Bulls training base, with federation medics taking no risks.
He started the session with the group, then skipped the rondos to stretch and complete individual drills on a mat, already focused on Sunday.
Porro’s situation is not considered alarming. He has tight hamstrings and will also be on the pitch on Sunday.
Precaution likewise surrounds the semi-final MVP against France, and it is wiser not to push a player in such fine form. Coach Luis de la Fuente spoke calmly to both before turning to the remaining 24 players.
The workout was designed to loosen legs, with greater intensity for those who did not face France and a lighter load for the starters.
