Kylian MbappĂ© is simply unstoppable in the World Cup. The French superstar opened the scoring in France's last-32 showdown with Sweden this evening in New Jersey, and made stunning history in the process.Â
Sweden keeper Jacob Zetterström was a brick-wall in the opening 45 minutes despite France peppering his goal with shots.
It took until the cusp of stoppage-time for MbappĂ© to curl in the opener from inside the box for his fifth of the tournament, only trailing Lionel Messi for the Golden Boot.Â
But more importantly, the goal sees MbappĂ© become the highest scoring player in World Cup knockout history, passing Brazilian greats LeĂŽnidas and Ronaldo NazĂĄrio.Â
Still just 27-years-old, who knows how many more he can add to that ridiculous tally before all is said and done!Â
