Memphis and Matheuzinho sit out start of training before final | OneFootball

Memphis Depay and Matheuzinho sat out the start of Corinthians’ penultimate session before Sunday’s Supercopa Rei against Flamengo at Mané Garrinha in Brasília, kick-off 16:00.

The duo stayed indoors at CT Joaquim Grava during the warm-up, then came out to watch a possession, passing and post-loss pressing drill. The club said they were due to complete the rest of training behind closed doors and were not a concern for Sunday.

Memphis made his first appearance of the season on Wednesday against Bahia in the Campeonato Brasileiro opener, having missed the first five games while treating left-knee pain and working on muscle rebalancing.

Reporters were allowed to view the opening minutes on a day when the training ground had no electricity following a storm in São Paulo.

The squad will hold a final session on Saturday morning before flying early in the afternoon to Brasília.
