Endrick hit a hat-trick and Tyler Morton ran the game as Lyon routed Metz 5-2 on Sunday, on Tavenot's first match. The result moved OL to within two points of the top three.
L'Équipe notes that the pair led Lyon's attack against a fragile home defence.
Merah was denied by Fisher on 10 minutes, then Endrick opened the scoring with a deft chip on 11 after Mata's pass released Tolisso in the build-up. Merah's switch freed Kluivert to make it 2-0 on 16.
Morton swept in a crisp strike on 32 following a poor clearance. He then sent Endrick racing away to make it 4-1 on 45+1 after a lung-busting run.
Fisher twice denied Endrick from close range on 47 and 59. The Brazilian earned and converted a penalty on 87 to complete his treble.
Mata shone at the back, producing recovery tackles on Diallo on 19 and 54. Maitland-Niles was a threat from right wing-back, going close with an overhead on 62 and handling Tsitaichvili defensively.
Merah impressed with his pressing and was replaced by De Carvalho on 74. For Metz, Colin struggled before making way for Abuachvili on 78.
Yegbe endured a torrid afternoon, his positioning and distribution proving costly, and he was replaced by Mboula on 62. Alpha Touré lost nine balls in an hour and won none back, then Stambouli came on to stabilise the midfield on 62 to warm applause.
