Metz, bottom of Ligue 1, will be without Benjamin Stambouli, Boubacar Traoré and Jean-Philippe Gbamin for Sunday’s home meeting with Auxerre at 17:15.

Stambouli fractured a rib during last Friday’s 0-0 draw with Lille, in a 66th-minute collision with Alexsandro. New coach Benoît Tavenot confirmed on Friday that the midfielder faces four to six weeks out.

The 35-year-old, recently brought back into the side by Tavenot, will miss the crucial visit of Auxerre, who occupy the relegation play-off place, in the 22nd round.

Centre-back Jean-Philippe Gbamin is suspended, serving the second and final match of his ban. Midfielder Boubacar Traoré is sidelined with a knee problem.

Less disruptive, given their minimal involvement this season, Metz also remain without forward Joseph Mangondo, goalkeeper Pape Sy, left-back Yannis Lawson, who is in recovery, and midfielder Ismaël Guerti, injured with the reserves (N3).
