According to The Telegraph, Middlesbrough are keen on Leicester midfielder Oliver Skipp, but a £15m valuation has paused any move.

Skipp joined City in 2024 for around £20m from Tottenham on a five-year deal. He has made 65 appearances across two seasons and has been relegated twice.

The 25-year-old is understood to want to leave after City’s fall from the Premier League into League One. Boro view him as a possible replacement for Hayden Hackney, 23, who is set to join Everton for £25m this summer.

The price has led Boro to look at alternatives, including Everton’s Harrison Armstrong and Liverpool’s Stefan Bajcetic. Skipp still has three years remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

It remains unclear whether he will accept a season in League One. Watford had been linked, but that interest has quietened in recent weeks.
