Serie A side Milan have faced some problems in hiring a new manager and a new sporting director. But once again, things are looking bright for the Rossoneri.
This is because Daniele Longo has reported about good progress in the hunt for Matthias Jaissle.
The Al-Ahli boss had a meeting with Gerry Cardinale in London and this turned out to be quite promising. From the very first contacts that took place over Zoom, there has been optimism that he could be the next Milan manager.
This is also helped by how the German is willing to give up a big part of his huge €11 million salary. The only drawback is his release clause of €6 million.
Cardinale is not keen on paying the amo, with Ruben Amorim also waiting in the wings.
This, for now, feels like another attempt from Milan to send the feelers about hiring a new manager. They have been in this loop before, where they touch base with many individuals and after promising signs, deals fall through.
In this case, the release clause seems to be holding things up. Saudi clubs are usually in no need for financial impetus and it would be unlikely if they accept a lower fee to let Jaissle depart.
