Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro: ‘I have the ambition to go further in the Champions League.’ | OneFootball

AS Monaco have guaranteed that, for back-to-back seasons, they will be in the UEFA Champions League. Les Monégasques got to the play-off round last season, before being knocked out by Benfica. The Principality club’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, has now expressed a desire to go further.

“It is a successful season but it is also a season in which we could have done better,” began Scuro in an interview attended by Get French Football News. “For me, we could have gone further in th Champions League […] what we have done for the past two years has been enough to reach our objectives but I want us to go further in the Champions League, I have the ambition for us to go further in the Champions League; that is one of our main goals.”

They will get the chance to do so. Despite a 4-0 defeat to RC Lens on the final day of the Ligue 1 season, a point of frustration for Scuro, Monaco finished on the podium. Their qualification for the League Phase of the UCL is, therefore, assured.
