After going off injured in Monaco’s 3-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain last Friday, the 24-year-old will undergo surgery on his left hamstring in Finland in the coming hours, according to Get French Football News.
No return date has been set, and the focus of his rehabilitation is to have him ready to compete at the World Cup. National team manager Carlo Ancelotti is due to name his squad on 19 May.
He has already been ruled out of the friendlies against France and Croatia at the end of March.
The Brazilian right-back previously suffered a hamstring issue in the autumn and has made 23 appearances, 16 starts, in all competitions this season, providing two assists.
Capped seven times, he has not featured for the Seleção since June 2025, when he played in a World Cup 2026 qualifier against Paraguay.
