According to Sky Germany, Musiala will at least sit out Bayern Munich's visit to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, with his workload set to be managed.
The report adds there is no new injury, rather a stress reaction in his ankle joint.
The forward played his first full match of the season last weekend, scoring in a 4-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Yesterday he featured for 45 minutes and scored again in a 6-1 rout of Champions League last-16 opponents Atalanta.
He is expected to pause before returning with carefully controlled minutes in the coming weeks. Having recently recovered from a broken fibula at the Club World Cup last July, Bayern are keen to avoid overplaying him.
