Neal Maupay joins Sevilla on loan from Marseille with option to buy

Neal Maupay has left Marseille for Sevilla on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy, after limited use under Roberto De Zerbi.

As reported by L'Équipe, he arrived from Everton in summer 2024 and scored four goals in 24 appearances in his first campaign. He was well regarded by his coach.

Sidelined early in pre-season last summer, Maupay has managed only 90 minutes this term, just one minute in Ligue 1. The move offers a route back to regular football in La Liga.

Sevilla are 12th, only three points clear of Mallorca, the first team in the relegation zone. The club face a survival battle over the run-in.

Maupay will wear the number 17 shirt.
