Man City’s 2025/26 Home Kit Channels History with Modern Twist

White Sash Signals New Direction

Manchester City have revealed their new home kit for the 2025/26 season, and in doing so, have rewritten the visual code of what a City shirt can be. Designed by Puma, the shirt retains the club’s signature sky blue but introduces, for the first time ever on a home kit, a crisp white sash – a nod to the past, reimagined for the future.

Traditionally a feature of City’s away shirts – especially during the 1970s, and revisited in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s – the sash now takes centre stage. Puma describes the move as “creating a connection to the past with a futuristic design” and “bridging the gap between different generations of City fans.” It’s more than an aesthetic flourish; it’s an intentional statement, tying together eras of triumph and transition in a single stripe.

Tribute and Technology Collide

Manchester City icon Mike Summerbee, whose era saw the sash worn proudly in away fixtures, lent his voice to the campaign surrounding the release.

“Kits hold special memories for players and fans. The sash has always been a loved design that people remember fondly, and I’m delighted to see it return this year, on a home kit,” said Summerbee.

“It was also an honour to be part of the kit launch video. I hope fans around the world enjoy the video and that this kit brings more special memories for the club.”

Premier Farewell and Club World Cup Debut

Although this new Man City kit won’t see action in the final stages of the Premier League or the upcoming FA Cup final – both of which will be played in the 2024/25 strip – it will debut on a global stage soon after. City will wear the 2025/26 home kit at the FIFA Club World Cup, beginning with a fixture against Moroccan side Wydad in Philadelphia on 18 June.
