Neymar's World Cup Dream in Danger After Fresh Injury Blow
Brazilian star Neymar's suffered another setback casting fresh doubt over his chances of playing in the upcoming 2026 World cup.
The 32 year old attacker picked up right rectus femoris muscle injury during training with Santos. He's now undergoing medical tests & monitoring by the club’s doctors.
Neymar could be sidelined for at least month. That would rule him out of Brazil's October friendlies against Japan & South Korea.
He'd already missed September’s World cup qualifiers after being left out by coach Carlo Ancelotti due to fitness concerns.
This latest setback deepens uncertainty around Neymar's availability for what would be his fourth World cup appearance next summer.
Reports suggest Ancelotti has already warned the forward that selection will depend on full fitness and consistency in the coming months.
Neymar’s persistent injuries continue to threaten his legacy with Brazil as fans wait anxiously to see if he can recover in time for the global stage.
