Novorizontino must pay fee to field Rômulo against Palmeiras in Paulista final

Novorizontino must pay a fee to field Rômulo, on loan from Palmeiras, against his parent club in the Campeonato Paulista final. The finals are expected to be played next Wednesday and Sunday.

According to Globo.com, the clause is written into the loan deal and the figure has not been disclosed.

Rômulo did not feature in the 4-0 win over Palmeiras in the first phase, as Novorizontino opted against paying the sum.

Wearing No 10, he is the side’s second-top scorer in the Paulistão with five goals, behind Robson on seven.

Palmeiras have received enquiries about a permanent move and are evaluating a sale after the state championship. Novorizontino must release him if Palmeiras accept an offer from a Série A club or from abroad, and there is no showcase clause entitling them to a percentage of any future transfer.
