It was confirmed a couple of days ago that Barcelona would return to their home for the La Liga encounter against Athletic Bilbao this Saturday. According to the club’s official statement, UEFA have also given the green light for the club to host Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on 10 December at the freshly renovated stadium.

Barcelona and president Joan Laporta share a good relationship with UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, which helped the club gain permission to play their first two games in this Champions League league phase away from home.

UEFA officials will be present at the stadium for Barcelona’s game against Alavés on 29 November to verify all the required details ahead of the Champions League fixture. If everything goes well, the green light will stand.
