Olympique de Marseille have been handed a suspended Europa League exclusion as well as a hefty €10m fine by UEFA after breaching their settlement agreement with the federation. UEFA’s First Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body has stated that Les Phocéens did not fulfil the final target of the settlement agreement as it failed to comply with the football earnings rule in 2025/26 season.”

UEFA have also noted the significant and unexpected collapse of the domestic broadcasting revenues affecting Ligue 1. Taking this into account and given Marseille’s limited extent of the breach, OM have been hit with an exclusion from the next one UEFA club competition – in Marseille’s case, the Europa League – for which the club would otherwise qualify in the next three season, unless the club complies with the football earnings in the next season.

Marseille will also be restricted in their ability to register new players on the UEFA competitions’ List A. They have also been hit with two fines that amount to €10m.
