FC Barcelona are in Italy as they get set to take on Inter Milan in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie at the Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday night.

With the first leg at Montjuic ending in a 3-3 draw last week, the tie is poised nicely with a spot in the finals of Europe’s premier competition on the line.

Ahead of the high-stakes encounter, Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo accompanied Hansi Flick for the press conference and spoke to the media, touching on various subjects including his registration.

Kicking things off, Olmo reflected on how his season has gone after returning to Barcelona, saying:

“I came to Barça to win… And at the moment we have two titles left and I’ve already won two more. I’m well, happy, motivated and ready to help the team. I thought we could do it. We are going to death with the coach’s idea.”

Giving an insight into the team’s readiness for the Inter clash, he stated: “We arrive recovered, I see the team well prepared, with energy and motivation.”

The 26-year-old Spaniard then heaped praise on his Barcelona and Spain teammate Lamine Yamal, who has been in sensational form this season, saying:

“We all know what kind of player he is, I am not even surprised, since the European Championship, he is calm and very motivated.”

On Inter Milan’s plan to double-mark Lamine in tomorrow’s game, he added: “That means there will be a free player and he has already shown that he can play with one, two and three. So there will be more free players. No problem.”

Stressing the importance of tomorrow’s game for Barcelona, Olmo said: “A great opportunity, six years without a semi-final and ten years without a final, it’s an opportunity we have to take advantage of.”

When asked about the atmosphere in the dressing room leading up to the match, Olmo remarked:

“I don’t want to give a headline… but in the dressing room it’s like a party. The young players don’t give as much importance to the situation as they should. It’s a healthy group, with great people and very good players. The common goal is to win.”

Regarding the registration problems that he had to encounter throughout the season and whether joining Barcelona was worth dealing with all the problems, Olmo replied:

“Of course, it was worth it, the bureaucracy was not up to me, we waited and it worked out well.”

On the number of players in the first team from La Masia and their development, Olmo added:

“It’s not like a goal beforehand, but it shows that it’s the best youth academy in the world. I already knew several players.”

Finally, talking about manager Flick and how he approaches things, Olmo stated:

“He is very close to the players, he transmits what he wants to us, he has a lot of confidence in all the players.”
