Simone Inzaghi is yet to decide whether to start Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij in defense for Inter Milan against Napoli.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews report that this is the one remaining selection doubt for the Nerazzurri coach.

Inter take on Napoli in just a couple of days’ time.

And it will be a hugely significant match. At the moment, the Nerazzurri are second in the Serie A table, and the Partenopei are first.

Just one point separates the two teams at the moment.

Therefore, Sunday’s match presents Inter with the opportunity to overtake Napoli at the top of the table. Clearly, there is a real chance that it could be a pivotal moment in the title race.

Inter just played another huge match this week. On Wednesday, they took on Arsenal in the Champions League, winning 1-0.

Inzaghi rotated his squad a fair bit for that match. He kept a number of players fresh for Sunday’s match.

And there is no doubt that some of the big names will return to the lineup against Napoli.

Wingback Federico Dimarco, midfielder Nicolo Barella, and striker Marcus Thuram will all start this weekend, having come off the bench against Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni will regain his starting place on the left of the back three.

The 25-year-old did not play a minute against Arsenal on Wednesday.

Another player who did not feature either from the start or from the bench yesterday was Acerbi.

The Italian international was in the squad. He has recovered from a thigh strain that he picked up in a Serie A match against Roma last month.

However, de Vrij has been starting in the centre of the back three in Acerbi’s place.

And considering that the Dutchman has been in good form, with another excellent display yesterday, he could very well keep his place on Sunday.

However, with Acerbi back and pushing for a starting spot, Inter coach Inzaghi could put him back in the lineup.
