Well, well, well…

There’s never such thing as a quiet day in the Premier League. Even a fairly comfortable 2-0 win at home produces incredible drama.

Chelsea navigated past Fulham with some help from the referee, but it was an action in the first 15 minutes that is going to have the most long lasting effects.

Delap injury causes chaos at Chelsea

Liam Delap pulled up holding his hamstring and was replaced by Tyrique George. Chelsea, with Joao Pedro on the field already, Cole Palmer injured and Nicolas Jackson on his way to join Bayern Munich, were forced to turn to George, also slated to be leaving this summer.

Enzo Maresca was asked in his press conference after the game if the Blues would consider adding another striker or cancelling Jackson’s loan. He said he didn’t yet know – but it hasn’t taken long for the decision to be made and the information to leak out.

Ornstein drops Jackson transfer U turn bomb

David Ornstein’s exclusive about Nicolas Jackson.

David Ornstein has now dropped the bomb that Jackson’s loan to Bayern WILL be cancelled, just hours after the Senegal star landed in Germany.

This is pretty massive. Clearly Chelsea’s plan was to loan him with a view to a sale next summer, now, Jackson will return to Stamford Bridge at least until January.

We’re not sure how the 24 year old will feel about this. A few hours ago he was grinning on a private jet heading to Munich. Now he’s forced to return to the club who have just tried to get rid of him.

At this point, however, it doesn’t seem like Chelsea have much of a choice. It’s too late in the window to start pursuing another target. Perhaps we should actually be thankful this happened in time for us to call Jackson back.
