It’s been known for a few weeks now that the versatile 19 year old striker was heading north, but now it’s official and I’m sure we are all delighted that a rising young talent has signed on at Celtic Park.
Callum was highly regarded at Fulham and was a prolific scorer at every youth level, but he decided against staying in London and take up the offer of signing for the Scottish champions, which once again highlights the sway of Brendan Rodgers.
Callum will battle Adam Idah and hopefully another new striker for the central forward role, and that can only be of great benefit to the squad. Daizen Maeda too will be in the mix or the manager may have plans to move our Player of the Year back to the left wing. We’ll have to wait and see how that one plans out.

The delighted Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers had this to say about his fourth summer signing: “We are really pleased to bring Callum to Celtic. He is a highly-rated, talented young player. He has some real attributes. He’s a quick and powerful striker and I’m really looking forward to working with him. I’m sure he can be really successful with us.”
Speaking to Celtic TV, new Bhoy Callum Osmand was understandably delighted at joining the finest team in Scotland.
“It’s a massive move. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans,” the new Celt said. “The winning mentality at Celtic is obviously unbelievable and I want to win trophies here. Every game that I step into here, I want to win, and I feel like we have all the facilities, players and staff to do so.”
Callum Osmand is the latest graduate of the highly regarded Fulham Academy to find his way to Paradise, with our new signing following in the footsteps of Moussa Dembele, Patrick Roberts, Moritz Jenz and Matt O’Riley.

“Fulham has got a brilliant Academy set-up and the coaches are top class,” Callum explained. “So it’s credit to them the way they bring through players and get them ready for senior football.
“Obviously, there has been multiple names that have come to Celtic like Moussa Dembele and Matt O’Riley. I have spoken to Matt on the phone, so he has given me advice. He talked me through some stuff, that I knew about too.
“He was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are and it’s a new life really. So excited is definitely the word for me.”
Well done to Matt O’Riley for helping to ‘sell’ Celtic to young Callum. Here’s a preview of the ‘Welcome to Celtic’ interview with Callum with the full interview available on Celtic TV to subscribers, with a subscription option on the official Celtic FC website.
