According to BILD, Neuer is on the DFB’s provisional 55-man list for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Nagelsmann is also said to be considering taking four goalkeepers with him to the tournament

While the World Cup question remains open, Neuer’s future at FC Bayern seems to have been clarified. According to consistent media reports, the 40-year-old has extended his contract by a further year. The official announcement could be made this championship weekend

Sporting director Max Eberl also commented positively on the ongoing talks on Friday: „We’re talking. We’re talking and it looks good, but there’s nothing to announce yet.“

Eberl particularly highlighted Neuer’s extraordinary career: „His entire career has been characterized by extraordinary highs, but also by one or two lows.“

With regard to the keeper’s performances in the Champions League, the Bayern boss added: „When you see how he performs in the Champions League, it’s very special.“
