Saturday’s round eight results tightened the early battle at the top of the Brasileirão, with Flamengo to play on Sunday. According to Coluna Do Fla, three matches were completed in the latest slate.
The day opened with Botafogo beating Red Bull Bragantino 2-1 in Bragança Paulista.

Fluminense then edged Atlético-MG 1-0 at the Maracanã.
Palmeiras later saw off São Paulo 1-0 in the state derby.
Four 16:00 Brasília time kick-offs follow on Sunday, Athletico-PR face Coritiba, Cruzeiro host Santos, Remo meet Bahia, and Vasco play Grêmio in Rio de Janeiro.
Two more begin at 18:30 Brasília time, Internacional host Chapecoense at Beira-Rio, while Vitória meet Mirassol at Barradão in Salvador.
The round concludes with Flamengo at Corinthians at the Neo Química Arena at 20:30 Brasília time.
