Palmeiras have agreed to sell Facundo Torres to Austin FC, with paperwork complete and the forward set to travel in the coming days to sign, according to Nosso Palestra.
The MLS club will pay about US$ 10 million, roughly R$ 54 million at current rates. Torres joined Palmeiras in 2025 from Orlando City for approximately R$ 70 million.
He featured regularly but did not entirely convince supporters or the coaching staff. In total he played 61 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.
At the end of the season, head coach Abel Ferreira said he did not wish to negotiate the Uruguayan, as with fellow forward Sosa who arrived in 2025. The Austin proposal may prompt the board to reassess plans for next season.
Palmeiras are reshaping their 2026 squad, negotiating departures in attack to create room for signings intended to come straight into the starting side.
Next up, Palmeiras face São Paulo in the Paulistão on 24/01 at 20:30 Brasília time. They then visit Atlético-MG in the Brasileirão on 28/01 at 19:00.
