Milan manager Paulo Fonseca’s future is contingent upon the team’s qualification to the Champions League knockouts.
According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan want to take one last shot with Paulo Fonseca and give him the chance to take the side to the Champions League knockouts. However, failure to achieve the objective by direct qualification could result in Fonseca getting the boot.
The Portuguese manager has delivered well when it mattered the most as Milan emerged with the bragging rights against Inter and sent Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid packing to secure an emphatic win at the Bernabeu. Though he has shone in big nights, Fonseca’s tactics have struggled to make an impression in regular Serie A games.
The Rossoneri have four matchdays left to get themselves promoted to the top eight of the pile and coast through directly to the next round. Fonseca’s side next face Slovan Bratislava and he will hope to get the three points without much stress.
