Lorenzo Pellegrini confirms he has a ‘great relationship’ with Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti, but Roma director Frederic Massara leaves the door open for the midfielder’s contract extension.

Pellegrini’s Roma contract expires this coming June, and the same is true of Paulo Dybala, Stephan El Shaarawy and Zeki Celik.

“There’s an open dialogue with all four players and their agents,” Roma director Massara said during the event Inside The Sport 2026 via Calciomercato.com.

“It’s a matter we’ve been dealing with in the last few weeks. We’ll assess whether there are the conditions and the mutual desire to continue together. All situations are open.”

Pellegrini has had ups and downs at the Stadio Olimpico this season, but has still made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.

Roma are once again fighting for a Champions League spot, but are now five points below fourth-placed Juventus.

“My happiness would be to finish in the top four with Roma. What we’ve been doing since the start of the season is just thinking about ourselves without looking at the table much,” Pellegrini said.

“It doesn’t depend on us alone right now, so what we can do is focus on ourselves, try to win all the remaining games, and then see at the end.”

The public dispute between Claudio Ranieri and Gian Piero Gasperini has only further motivated the Giallorossi boss, said Pellegrini: “The coach is even more pumped up than before; we must focus on these last games.

“What matters to us is being in the best possible condition on the field to win the challenges, then we’ll see what happens.”

Pellegrini has been linked with a move to Juventus, as the Bianconeri look to add quality and depth to their midfield.

Certainly, the Italy international built a solid bond with Spalletti during the Tuscan tactician’s second spell at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I have a great relationship with the coach,” Pellegrini concluded.

“We experienced fantastic moments together, and I appreciated the good person he is, as well as an out-of-the-ordinary coach.”
