Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Rodri is not yet ready to return for this weekend’s game against Leeds.
The Man City midfielder is out with a hamstring injury and will not play again on Saturday.
“No, not yet,” Guardiola said when asked if he is ready.
On how far away he is to making a return, Guardiola responded: “Not much further.”
City were beaten 2-0 by Bayer Leverkusen in midweek, with Erling Haaland among those rested.
But Guardiola says he is not hugely concerned about their reliance on the striker.
“It’s not the main concern but of course more players have to score,” he said.
“But in general, except from the last game, we’ve done many good things in terms of all the aspects.
“Of course Erling is massively important but the other ones are as well.”
Guardiola also discussed the future of Bernardo Silva, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.
“I want the best from Bernardo and if he wants to stay I would be more than delighted and happy,” Guardiola said.
“But I don’t talk about that subject with him. I always want the best for his family.
“He has been here for nine years and he will decide with the club what is the best.”
