Nou Mestalla remains on schedule and, if nothing changes, is due to be ready in summer 2027.

According to AS, the new Valencia stadium still has a chance to be a 2030 World Cup venue in Spain, Morocco and Portugal, a possibility officials from government and the Spanish federation have referenced in recent months.

Rafael Louzán, president of the Spanish Football Federation, attended the launch of the Women’s Supercopa, which will be played next week in Castellón. Among those present was the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, who voiced complete institutional support for Valencia hosting World Cup matches.

New in post, Pérez Llorca said Valencians want it to happen and promised the region would not let organisers down, telling Louzán he has the Generalitat’s backing to make it a reality.

Nou Mestalla is not among the 11 venues previously selected, although that list is provisional, with Málaga already withdrawing from the race. After the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, updates are expected and the 2030 host cities will be confirmed.
