The last game of the Bundesliga season is upon us. On Saturday, RBL will travel to take on SC Freiburg. Head coach Ole Werner revealed RBL's aims for the away clash and gave an update about the availability of certain players in the pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

The squad for matchday 34

  1. "If we still had to fulfil our main ambitions, then David Raum would definitely be playing at the weekend. But he's had an intense year and has put a lot of energy into things on and off the pitch. He also has a huge task ahead of him in the form of the World Cup in summer. I think that a break would do him good.Péter Gulácsi will start in goal. He's played a huge part in our success this season. He's one of one of the defining goalkeepers of the past ten Bundesliga seasons, and I'd like to make it possible for him to end the season on a high note.I'll choose the team that gives us the best possible chance of winning. When you've achieved one of your main aims, I think that it's important to stick with the tried-and-tested structure, but also bring a couple of players who have been champing at the bit recently and who want to prove themselves."

The points record

  1. "We're travelling to Freiburg to win and to set a new record. We have the chance to make it the club's best-ever season in terms of points. That's our goal, and it's a huge motivating factor for everyone. In Freiburg, we have the chance to put the proverbial icing on the cake. The boys have deserved it, because it's a really special team. I've coached a lot of teams who have a good character but, in my view, it's incredible how my players treat one another."

A summary of the season

  1. "I'm really happy with the way in which we have developed as a team. We won a lot of games in the first half of the season, even though we didn't play as well as we set out to do. In the second half of the campaign, we've clearly improved. We should play attacking football, we want to create chances on the break and in possession. As far as the number of chances created is concerned, only Bayern have more than us, with Leverkusen's tally being virtually identical. That should be in our DNA. I think we've really improved in this regard. The same applies to the manner in which we defend, despite the fact that this is the area where there's the most room for improvement. The most important thing for me is that we look and play like a team out there on the pitch and deal with tough moments together."

Looking ahead to next season

  1. "I'm looking forward to the new challenges thrown up by the Champions League. I don't have any preferred opponents, but I'd be over the moon with away trips to Istanbul or Glasgow, since the atmosphere is always fantastic there. Either way, it's going to be amazing.I'm looking forward to experiencing more positive moments with the fans next season. During home matches, the atmosphere here was great, and the support on the road was also good. We've got a young fanbase which is constantly growing, and the enthusiasm is getting greater and greater. As a team, it's a case of attracting people through the way that we play football."
