Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dropped for Le Havre trip after La Commanderie incident | OneFootball

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left out of Marseille’s squad for Sunday’s trip to Le Havre at 21:00 after an incident at La Commanderie.

According to L'Équipe, the 36-year-old Gabon international was involved in a bout of horseplay at the training centre on Thursday night, the fourth consecutive night spent on site. He reportedly led about 10 team-mates as they disrupted several rooms.

The flashpoint came when he used a fire extinguisher on Bob Tahri, a member of the sporting management tasked with enforcing curfew, soaking Tahri, his bed and personal items. Tahri is understood to have taken it badly and escalated the matter to senior figures.

Interim president Alban Juster and incoming president Stéphane Richard met the squad on Friday midday to establish what happened, before issuing a sanction.

Aubameyang has apologised to Tahri and to the club’s management. He reportedly intended only to liven the mood.
