Plata appears to be rowing back on recent actions towards Flamengo, re-following the club on Instagram on Monday after a spell out and the March international window.
According to Coluna Do Fla, he has not restored all archived posts featuring the Flamengo shirt, with only a photo of him holding the Libertadores trophy still visible.
Since Leonardo Jardim took charge, the winger has seen reduced minutes, with the head coach citing integration difficulties. That backdrop led to increased scrutiny of the No 50’s off-field issues.
In this context, the club considered a sale after the 2026 World Cup. Jardim did not oppose the possibility, though the board want a replacement in before any move.
After starting for Ecuador during the March window, Plata returned to the club and sat out the match against Red Bull Bragantino due to physical fatigue. He featured in the following game.
On Sunday 5 April, the No 50 replaced Jorge Carrascal against Santos, then soon set up Lucas Paquetá for Flamengo’s third goal in a win on the 10th round of the Brasileirão.
