The 10th matchday of the Serie A campaign ended with a Lazio victory at the expense of Cagliari, thanks to goals from Gustav Isaksen and Mattia Zaccagni, who set the Stadio Olimpico ablaze.
The Sardinians held their own in the first half, but the Biancocelesti’s individual quality, particularly on the wings, made the difference in the second period. So here are our player ratings for Lazio, who are now unbeaten in their last six matches.
Ivan Provedel – 6.5
The Italian shot-stopper didn’t have to pull off any miraculous saves, but was always well-positioned and alert to the danger. Extended his clean-sheet run to four on the trot.
Manuel Lazzari – 6.5
A positive display from the former SPAL man, who made a glorious run before setting up Zaccagni in the first half.
Mario Gila – 7
The Spaniard is arguably Lazio’s most consistent player this season. He had the better of Sebastiano Esposito in their duel, and also displayed his technical skills as he charged forward with the ball almost effortlessly.
Alessio Romagnoli – 6
The former Milan captain wasn’t too troubled at the back, but was hauled off at half-time, probably due to a physical issue.
Adam Marusic – 6.5
A solid display from the versatile full-back who looked comfortable at the back. He also tested Elia Caprile with a superb curler.
Matteo Guendouzi – 6.5
After weeks of mediocre performances, this was arguably the Frenchman’s best display of the season thus far. He prevailed in the majority of his duels against his Cagliari counterparts, and he was credited with the assist on Isaksen’s opener.
Danilo Cataldi – 6
The Lazio stalwart did well when shielding the backline, but he’s been unable to replicate Nicolo Rovella’s role in the build-up.
Toma Basic – 5.5
The Croatian looked like a player who could do with some rest after starting his sixth match in a row.
Gustav Isaksen – 7
The Denmark international wasn’t having a spectacular evening by any means, but he rose to the occasion in the middle of the second half, breaking the deadlock with a wonderful solo effort. He might well be one of the best two-footed players in Serie A.
Boulaye Dia – 5
Another anonymous performance from the Senegalese. It almost feels like he has already resigned to his fate, as Maurizio Sarri awaits Taty Castellanos’ return from injury to drop him from the team.
Mattia Zaccagni – 7.5
The Lazio captain looked like a man possessed. He repeatedly tracked back to win back possession. After being on the receiving end of some harsh Yerry Mina treatment, he ended up having the last laugh, sending a rocket to the top corner while the Colombian was marking him.

Oliver Provstgaard – 6
The young defender made sure Romagnoli’s absence wasn’t felt in the second half. Clean and tidy at the back.
Matias Vecino – 6
The Uruguayan added a burst of energy in the middle of the park. An upgrade on Basic.
Luca Pellegrini – 6
The left-back made a vital intervention at the back, preventing Zito Luvumbo from aiming towards goal from close range.

Tijjani Noslin – N/A
