Liverpool star Luis Díaz is now actively pushing to depart the club, to seal a dream move to Spain with Barcelona.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments in the saga surrounding the 28-year-old.

The name of wide-man Díaz has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Colombian has been identified as the no.1 summer transfer target on the part of La Liga champions Barcelona.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third, the Blaugrana have identified the former Porto man as the ideal profile.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then interest in a joining of forces appears to be very much mutual.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, in fact:

‘Díaz has the same goal as the Catalan club: to unite their paths for next season. The Colombian is aware of Deco’s interest and is already fighting to force his departure to Barcelona.’

It now remains to be seen if Barcelona are willing to meet the demands of their Anfield counterparts, expected to demand a premium sum for a player fresh off helping Liverpool to the Premier League title.
