Glasgow Rangers will travel to Falkirk tomorrow afternoon, and depending on Hearts’ result today, a win could see them move to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Tomorrow is essentially a preview of Rangers’ final game of the season, where they will visit Falkirk for a third time this campaign, hoping to lift their 56th league title.
The Bairns currently find themselves 6th in the league table, confirming their spot in the Championship Group for the post-split section of this season. They have enjoyed an impressive campaign following promotion from the second tier last season.
John McGlynn, of course, remains in the Falkirk dugout, taking charge of his 182nd game tomorrow and hoping for his 110th win with the club. The 64-year-old was appointed in May 2022 and has overseen a rapid rise from League One to the Scottish Premiership. It’s certainly not unthinkable that we could see the Forth Valley side in European competition next season, since they are only five points behind 5th placed Hibernian.
Danny Röhl has done a stellar job at Rangers since his mid-season appointment, slashing the gap at the top of the table from 13 points to just one, with 18 still left to play for. However, the German head coach confirmed yesterday that his side will be without Ryan Naderi tomorrow afternoon.
“Ryan Naderi has a serious injury. We have assessed him, but we will just take it week by week. We are monitoring him, and we don’t know if he will be back before the end of the season. Ryan has made a great impact since his arrival. It’s football, but we have a lot of players who can fill in.”
Naderi has made a good start to his Rangers career since joining the club in January, including netting his first league goal against Dundee United last time out.
Both of Rangers’ title rivals, Hearts and Celtic, are in action today; if either side drops points, Röhl will want his side to be in prime position to capitalise.
The game is due to take place on Sunday, April 12th, kick-off is scheduled for 12pm (UK time)
