Sean Dyche will take charge of his first match as Nottingham Forest head coach when they welcome Porto to the City Ground tomorrow night.

Dyche becomes Forest’s third manager of the season after Nuno Espírito Santo was dismissed in September following 21 months in charge. His successor, Ange Postecoglou, was sacked after a heavy 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, having drawn two and lost eight of his matches.

The former Everton boss returns to the club where he began his career as a youth player, following his own dismissal from Everton in January.

Heading into tomorrow’s Europa League clash, Forest sit just one point above the Premier League relegation zone. They are winless in their last ten matches in all competitions and are yet to claim a victory in the Europa League group stage. Porto, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last six games.

The Tricky Trees will be without five key players – Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, Omari Hutchinson, Jair Cunha, and Angus Gunn – all sidelined through injury.

Porto, one of only seven teams to maintain a 100% record in European competitions this season, boast seven major titles across the Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and Intercontinental Cup.

The Portuguese champions currently top Liga Portugal, having won seven matches and dropped just two points with a draw against Real Betis.

This will be the first-ever competitive meeting between Nottingham Forest and Porto. English sides are unbeaten in their last ten matches against Portuguese opposition, winning three and drawing seven.

Porto will be without Luuk de Jong and Nehuén Pérez, both ruled out with knee injuries.

The match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports in the UK, with a kick-off time of 20:00 [BST].
