Christopher Nkunku’s future at Chelsea is up in the air, with several top European clubs reportedly eyeing a move for the forward. According to Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, the 27-year-old could be on the move as soon as January, with his representatives looking into potential options elsewhere.

Nkunku made the switch to Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £52 million but has struggled to secure a consistent spot in the starting lineup, sparking speculation about his next steps.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently shared that PSG are genuinely interested in Nkunku, although they haven’t yet made any formal approach to Chelsea.

Recently, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Bayern Munich is eager to sign Nkunku right away. The German club has already secured a verbal agreement with the player on a long-term contract, with all terms in place. Nkunku is also eager to make the move to Bayern as soon as possible.

Nonetheless, a return to Germany will need to wait.

Nkunku’s potential move to Bayern Munich in a swap deal involving Mathys Tel could be delayed until the summer after encountering a setback.

Plettenberg provided an update, noting that the deal may not go through in January due to Chelsea’s high asking price. It also seems likely that Tel will remain at Bayern, which could push Nkunku’s transfer to at least the summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also reported that there has been no communication between the two clubs in the past 48 hours, and the French forward’s move hinges entirely on whether Tel is open to making the switch.
